Math: Continue with number sense and adding.

Reading: " Pig in a Wig" and short I. We will continue working on writing sentences, and we will review the short a sound from last week. Please read with your child every night. Reading is very fast paced in first grade so it is very easy for a child to get behind if they are not practicing.

Spelling: in, it, did, did, sit, fix, lip, mix, pin, wig, you, was. Spelling tests will be given on Thursdays. Spelling will be graded, but it does not go on the report card this nine weeks.

Social Science: The five senses.

Short a words and final -ck words.
Will work on writing sentences. Please practice writing sentences at home with spelling words. Read the stories and sight words nightly. These are located and labeled in your child's take home folder.

Spelling is not graded this nine weeks, but please make sure you are practicing the routines with your child at home. We will take our practice tests on Thursdays, and our actual test will be on Fridays.

High Frequency Words: of, and

Math: Number Words 1-20, Number Sense, and practice counting and writing to 100.

Please do not forget to send in your field trip shirt money. We are planning for our first trip in October!
